Life's good in Madison
Sitting atop an isthmus between two beautiful lakes, Madison is constantly on the short list of national magazines' best places to live. The city's low crime and unemployment rates, combined with its friendly people, cultural diversity, and strong emphasis on education, contribute to that appeal. Madison's vibrant downtown bursts at the seams with its many festivals, concerts, community events, and celebrations. The capital city and University of Wisconsin-Madison boast a number of museums, galleries, and theaters. Area clubs feature live music ranging from rock, country, blues, pop, and metal to bluegrass, jazz, indie, folk, funk, and punk.
Many public waterfronts and parks lining the lakes attract summer beachgoers and boaters. Ice skating and skiing are popular winter activities, but one of the biggest attractions for outdoor enthusiasts is Madison's miles of nationally recognized bike paths. It's definitely one of the best ways to see everything Wisconsin's beautiful capital city has to offer.
