60 Credits/ 60 Weeks
Objective:
The Digital Media Design and Production program prepares students for entry- level employment in new media design and production. Target jobs include web designer, visual designer, print production specialist, and media developer. These positions are typically found at advertising agencies, new media/web development firms, the creative departments of larger organizations, and among independent contractors serving these businesses.
To prepare for a career in digital media design and production, Madison Media Institute students develop a solid grounding in design principles covering layout, color, and typography. Students put these principles to work using a suite of industry-standard software applications, including Adobe PhotoShop,® Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe Flash®, Adobe Dreamweaver®, Adobe After Effects®, Adobe InDesign®, and Macintosh® and Windows® operating systems. For production work, students use a variety of hardware, including web servers, digital cameras, light kits, scanners, and color printers.
In addition to these skills, the Digital Media Design and Production program introduces students to non-technical aspects of the digital media business and breaking trends in the industry.
