61 Credits*/120 Weeks*
Objective:
The purpose of the Entertainment and Media Business program is to prepare students for management and production roles in entertainment/media.
*This is a degree completion program. 61 credits are actually offered in this program. Applicants need to complete the equivalent of 60 credit hours or more in an associate degree in the field prior to enrolling in the program.
Program Overview:
Madison Media Institute’s Entertainment and Media Business Bachelor of Science Degree Program combines three best-in-class strands: advanced media-related technical training, core business courses in areas such as Marketing and Finance, and specialized training in entertainment and media business. Students learn to develop, market, manage, and distribute media and entertainment products in the recording, video and film, and new media sectors. Along the way they will build relationships with faculty members who are experts in artist management, product development, and entertainment business. Courses in the Entertainment and Media Business program take place online, though several courses include a classroom-based component. The Entertainment and Media Business Bachelor of Science Degree is designed as a capstone to MMI’s Associate Degree Programs in Recording and Music Technology, Video and Motion Graphics, and Digital Media Design and Production. Students enter the program in one of two ways. Candidates can simultaneously apply to one of MMI’s associate programs and to the Entertainment and Media Business baccalaureate program; successful applicants are enrolled into their associate program and provisionally admitted to the baccalaureate program. Alternatively, students who are initially admitted to an associate-level degree program may seek admission to the Entertainment and Media Business baccalaureate program at the end of their third semester.
Admissions Requirements:
Applicants seeking admission to the Entertainment and Media Business Bachelor of Science Degree Program must have successfully completed an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Madison Media Institute. Students who have completed associate-level programs from other institutions will be considered for admission. In some cases, admitted students with an associate degree will be required to complete additional technical training prior to matriculation into the Entertainment and Media Business baccalaureate program.
